In 2018, a flash flood occurred in the Zhongdu river, which lies Yibin, Sichuan province of China. The caused many casualties and significant damage to people living nearby. Due difficulty predicting where when floods will happen, it is nearly impossible set up monitors advance detect detail. Field investigations are usually carried out study propagation disaster-causing mechanism after flood’s happening. field studies take relic left by deduce peak level, discharge, bed erosion, etc. further revel between water sediment transport during This kind relic-based generate bigger errors regions with great deformation. this study, we come numerical simulations investigate that happened river. based on two-dimensional shallow models coupled deformation models. Based real level discharge profile measured hydrometric station nearby, simulation reproduced valley. results show coverage, variation, velocity distribution flood. offers help studying damage-causing process. Furthermore, without considering also impact erosion sedimentation. proved that, deformation, may be greatly underestimated, lying valley has power.
